VDPAU packages
Following the announcement made by nVidia there:
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=138880
I’ve decided to not wait for Ubuntu packages to move to this new package structure (which won’t happen before 10.04 now).
What this means is that my packages are now not 100% compatible with Mythbuntu ones, though moving from one repository to another is still going to be rather simple (simply require to manually install libvdpau0 if using my packaged nvidia drivers)
The main advantage to this change is that mythtv will not be linked to any particular nvidia drivers any longer.
Prior to this change, you would have had to use the “release” repository if you wanted 180.60 and the “testing” repository if you wanted 185.x or 190.x.
The current mythtv trunk packages were only built against nvidia drivers 180.60.
Now there will only be one mythtv packages 0.21-fixes and 0.22/trunk ; you will easily be able to change nvidia drivers without having to reinstall different mythtv or mplayer packages.
To change, simply select a different nvidia-glx-xxx package ; everything else will be automatic.
It takes a while for all packages to be rebuilt. If you’re experiencing issues, it’s probably because the current program you’re using isn’t using the new libvdpau ; to fix it , manually install libvdpau0.
